Hi Jonathan! I'm so sorry for the delay. I'm almost never on GR these days given the problems with Facebook targeting reviews from readers who are also linked as "friends". If you're on Facebook please pm me or you can reach me by email at le.franks.books@gmail.com :)

My idea for Can This Be Real initially came from a story call from MLR Press - they were looking for "foodie" stories. I always try to turn things on their head - so instead of a traditional man-falls-in-love-with-chef story I wondered what would happen if a chef fell for a guy who couldn't taste his food.

Hi Kezia!
Thank you - I'm still so surprised at how many people seem to love this story. The original reader prompt gave me quite a challenge - so I tip my hat to her. As a matter of fact I was at Rainbow Con in Tampa this spring when another reader asked me that same question. My publisher at WildCity Press was there at the time and he'd like me to finish it with an eye to publishing - which means expanding it quite a bit. Originally I just flat ran out of time. Now I'm not sure where I want to take them - but I'll need to tackle it sooner rather than later. If you're serious about being a Beta for this drop me an email at LE (dot) Franks (dot) Books @ gmail.com

Write. Just write. Write everyday. Read something good. Then write some more.

I'm currently working on the follow up to Snow Globe. More like a POV-quel - that follows the story from Tyr's perspective.
