Zari L. Ballard I don't know if I've ever really had writer's "block" per say but I have had what I call writer's "pause" where I temporarily can't think of any new topics to write about. However, it never lasts long because something or someone inevitably will inspire me and then I can't type the words out fast enough. If I do get stuck WHILE I'm writing, I have to make myself get up and do something else for awhile and then come back to it. Otherwise, I'll write and rewrite a paragraph 100 times just trying to get the right words. After a break, without fail, I'll come back to the same paragraph and the words just flow. It's amazing how the creative part of the brain works.
Zari L. Ballard That I can work from home, make my own hours, and speak and correspond with wonderful people all over the planet. I love it!
Zari L. Ballard To just keep writing EVERY DAY and to stay disciplined! Because life gets in the way, I have trouble doing both so I guess I'm recommending to do as I say and not as I do:)
Zari L. Ballard Well, I just finished my fifth book (Narcissism In a Nutshell - 13 Surefire Signs That the Person You Love Is an Emotional Manipulator) and, as always, I'm writing articles for my website (thenarcissisticpersonality.com). Secretly, when I have extra time, I'm working on a fiction novella series about a female assassin who was forced into the business and now wants out of it.
Zari L. Ballard For the past year or so, I've been getting my inspiration right from my readers and from those who book phone consultations to talk to me about their relationships. I look at the questions that they ask and what happens to be weighing the most heavily in the moment and then I respond by writing a related article or starting a new book.
Zari L. Ballard All five of my books discuss narcissism in relationships according to the experience of my own 13-year journey (with a narcissistic abuser). So, you might say that at the end of my relationship, instead of suffocating from the sadness, I turned lemons into lemonade and decided to share - in writing - what I now know to be true about the narcissist's agenda.
