OK, I am lying. Sometimes you need inspiration. For that I read or look at sci-fi fantasy artists on the web. I captured as much art as I can on my Pinterest account. Sometimes I use that as a way to avoid writing, but mostly I use it for inspiration. There are so many talented artists out there. We live in an age of abundance.

Write. You will learn everything you need to learn from the process of actually writing. You don't need books or seminars or tutorials. Those things are a way to avoid writing. You stop dreaming about writing. You stop wishing your were writing. You stop thinking about writing. You stop reading about writing.

The joy you feel when you have finished writing for the day. There is no better feeling. It is not pleasure, it's something completely different. Sometimes it is painful or grueling to write that day. It's not always fun. But at the end of the day, when I have done my work, I feel so much more at ease, like anything can happen and it will be all right. I don't get that feeling from anything else, ever.
