Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Ruth Gordon My cousin in San Diego told me about Bum and I saw Bobby's statue in Edinburgh and then it was research, research, and more research.

How do you get inspired to write?
Ruth Gordon I keep my ears out for ideas (reading, traveling, or conversation). When I get an idea, I pursue it right away and then go back to it after nuances occur to me as I go about my business.

Ruth Gordon I have just finished a Guidebook for home hospice for pets.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Ruth Gordon Take a few classes and then just write, write, and write. Get feedback, and evaluate all criticism.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Ruth Gordon I just love sitting by myself playing with words that express my ideas best.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Ruth Gordon I do not let it stop me. It may slow me down, but never so I stop.
