Long story. As one of the few women to work in politics in San Francisco, I'd had my share of moments when I'd lost out just for being a woman. Finally, I had someone replace me on a job because they needed someone "more powerful." That set my mind reeling and I spent the next year trying to write a play about a powerful political consultant who is visited by an ancient spirit guide. A warrior who helps teach her how to get her mojo back. Women, you see, have been fighting since the dawn of time.
The play went nowhere, but it eventually morphed into Woman King and the adventure began!

The world around me is one giant distraction. I watch and listen to everything - from the man sitting next to me on the airplane (yesterday) to the bird hanging onto the branch during today's thunderstorm. I never know when something I see will bring me inspiration.

Dark Horse the sequel to Woman King and the second book in the trilogy and a little bit on some short stories that will feature some of the characters in the books. I've heard from readers that they would like to know more about William, Josef and especially Elsa, so I am going to try to deliver!

Ok. So cliche, but writing. As a child, I wrote all the time and read. As an adult, I sort of drifted away from those activities. Then a few years after my daughter was born, I began to write again and suddenly I felt like me again. Now if I go more than a few days without writing, I get a little cranky...

Music and exercise: sometimes as a combination or sometimes as separate activities. I've had a lot of great ideas for Olivia and her friends while on the elliptical.
