I get inspired by writing and reading others. I love to brainstorm and jot down new ideas and outlines of new projects (potential book ideas), and I love to research online about topics that are fascinating to me...right now that would be theology related material.

Luanne Rice's "Beautiful Lost"
Jane Green's "Summer Sister's"
"Silver Linings Playbook," Matthew Quick -the French translation (read twice before. Learning French, so chose a novel I know very well to help me learn French better over the summer.)
"A Master Plan for Rescue," Janis Newman
"The Devil You Know" Terry Tyler
"Look Homeward Angel" Thomas Wolfe - want to finish. Reading slowly & drinking in every word.

Anne Grant & Harris from EVENING by Susan Minot. Complex love story that resonated deeply for me.

The idea came to me when I was at my parent's house this fall. I wanted to sum up easily major issues that come our way and how we can deal with them with the right mental attitude, actions and belief system. This is what my book is about. It will be in audio form, too.

I am currently writing my fourth non-fiction book that is in my second book in my HAPPY SERIES BOOKS- Hard Knocks, Easy Answers, "How to Win a Life." Inspired by principles I have learned, yoga, spiritual and working in the Hollywood industry for 10 years, this book is to the point and gives direct answers on how to handle big life issue that often occur on our journey.
Written from my own point of view with life stories of my own, I also weave in facts, statistics and other positive quotes and spiritual gurus to help give the reader a fabulous easy- 'how-to-book' on living.
I love reading books like these. I just found out my book, Happy Soul hit the top 10 in hot new release in paper back, top 4 in kindle on Amazon. Writing is an exciting journey. What is more exciting is connecting with readers and corresponding with them through social media. I am inspired by their stories, too.

My advice for aspiring writers is to create a blog, a journal and write weekly. Also, join a local writing group, take creative writing classes, go to writer's conferences, take learning annex classes if you can still find them and interact on-line with other writers that inspire you. Find one author writer that truly inspires you and read all of their books. My favorite authors have been like beacons of light during different periods of my life. I am grateful for the written word.

The best thing about being a writer is connecting deeply with your soul. Writing taps into the unknown places of myself I do not always reveal in person. I am grateful for my writing. Also, I love sharing so much and learning life lessons and ideas that have helped me to become a strong person.

I don't just wait for inspiration. I deal with writer's block by being prepared with an outline, chapters and a direction in what needs to take place during my writing time. When I am prepared, ready and my mind has a little map of ideas already to go, I am able to connect the dots much more easily.
I think writing is a lot like life. In order to make it happen you have to create the 'win' for it in terms of your writing time, too. This helps me push through harder and less inspired times to write.
Then later, when editing my first draft, I can tell when I need to cut certain paragraphs because they were the push-through paragraphs that helped me get going.
Writing is a spiritual experience for the soul, but also a disciplined one that needs repetition in order to learn how to write anywhere, anytime.
I originally started in the newspaper business with press releases then a newspaper column. Learning to write on tight deadlines helped me immensely. I would recommend if just starting to blog weekly, journal write and take creative writing classes. Good luck!
