I knew as soon as high school, but the timing to pursue writing as a my main occupation wasn't then. When you have a passion, it will not let go. It will look for the right moment to reveal itself. So after 4 degrees later, working as a mechanical engineer, researcher and more--now is the time.

Rebecca, did you ever get the book? If not let me know go to my website (send a note through the website). Send me how to get you one. A mass market version of A Duke, The Lady, and A Baby is coming in January 2023. I'll see if I can get you one.

I think you should go see it. It's well acted. The costuming and music are inspiring. Do I go to Hollywood to see a documentary or to watch a feel good film, one that gives brilliant actors meaty parts.
There can be a million films on lore of the Old West or Vikings. Why must we have 100% accurate accuracy for stories of Africa? Why can't we allow our creatives some freedom.
The last thing, I'll say is that the more films that are shown to be commercially viable, the more films with predominate castings of Black and other marginalized groups will be made. I highly doubt that any exec or film agency or finance backer will dissect a movie such as this and say it falters because of historical accuracy. I think they'll fault the actors or mistakenly think that no one wants these types of positive portrayal in film.
Let me know if I've said too much. Wordy author here. :)

A scream fell from Angela Monroe's lips as she crashed down the final treads of the old wooden stairs. The world stopped spinning and she gasped a short breath then landed upon her father's severed hand.

I wanted my hero and heroine to face an incredible challenge, life or death, but something different than the usual Regency disasters and intrigues. I think we have that in Swept Away.
