Please, do not expect that your first thing will be great. You should spend hours and hours writing, reviewing and rewriting ugly texts until you get something beautiful and readable for others. This is a normal process to learn how to do something well.

I was pushed by Packt publishing company. They asked me if I know something about MinGW. I answered "Yes" and suggested some ideas to write about. Then I get my first contract for writing a book.

It is not difficult to get an idea for a technical book. For example, you know something and want to share your knowledge with others. You check that nobody did write about it yet or you have something to add. So, you write about this technical topic. Also, there is another case when you write your personal notes for yourself and just push it to somewhere. At some point, it becomes a real book.

The best thing, which I can do in this situation, is to not force myself to write something. Instead, I prefer to gather new materials for my work. If I already have enough things to think about, I just go walking or switch to any sport/physical activity. Anything, which helps you to switch your attention from writing, would help you (but it would better to choose something without a computer or mobile phone). Afterward, you will find that you get a new idea.

I want to read some science fiction books. Philip Dick made a great impression on me. So, I want to become more familiar with this genre.
