Ed, I'm glad you were reading Forget the Alamo. I never gave it thought except when I was a kid and saw the movie (smile) but reading this book has really opened my eyes. I'm learning a lot about Texas and the history of the Alamo. So thank you!?
Ed Lynskey I'm glad you also enjoyed reading it. It's amazing it's been preserved for this long. I remember it as smaller than I imagined it being. I guess it looked larger in the movies. Thanks for your comments.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Ed Lynskey A few years ago, I lost my gold wedding band after I lost 40 pounds and my finger size decreased. We searched everywhere for it, retracing my steps even to the shopping mall. Of course, it was of great sentimental value to me. During the repairs on our gas stove, it was pulled away from the wall. There lay my lost gold wedding band I'd given up on finding. It must have slipped off while I was cooking dinner. Anyway, I used the episode in writing one of my scenes.

Hi Ed, I recall you said that you did not read so much because of your writing so I'm just checking with you (smile) how is the writing going? I keep playing with the idea of writing a history book
Ed Lynskey Hi Diane, Yes, I write every day of the week now. It keeps me going and amused. I'm finishing a private eye book. Thank you for your good comments and best of luck with your history project.

No question, I just wanted to say that I was elated to see that Harry Crews is listed as one of your inspirations. Quite a writer and a local favorite here in Gainesville, Florida. ? Because goodreads insisted ;)
Ed Lynskey Many moons ago, I wrote my Master Thesis on Harry Crews' books. I spoke to him on the phone a couple of times. He was always helpful and funny. I have all of his books and reread them from time to time. Thanks for your good comments and the trip down a fun memory lane.

Are you a speed reader? I'm retired and struggle to get thru two books a month. I also enjoy coloring, puzzles and I attend a bible study. And beside all that reading you write?
Ed Lynskey Thanks for your message. I never thought of myself as a speed reader, Gayle. LOL. I spend more time writing my books than I do reading. Your schedule sounds busy to me. My wife enjoys coloring adult coloring books and knitting. I'm going to try reading something humorous. Stay well and have a great week!

I do not have a kindle, do not want a kindle but would like to read some of your books. Looked them up on Amazon and $99.99 for a paperback?? Really?? No way.
Ed Lynskey Hi Gaylon, My mother doesn't like Kindles either. LOL. I hope to put my cozies out in paper for the readers like you. As for the $100 paperback, I have nothing to do with it. But who'd ever pay that much? Thanks for your question, Ed

Any chance that your books will be on audio at some point? As much as it pains me, as a ridiculously avid reader (8, yes EIGHT, seven foot high bookcases that are overflowing with books... and many that still need love), to admit it, I have become disabled and reading has become increasingly difficult. I'm finding that more and more I listen more than read. I'm drawn to your stories. I would love to hear them, though.
Ed Lynskey Hi Carolynn, Sorry to hear of your disability. I haven't looked into doing audio books. One of my books with a publisher was made into an audio book. I think the success of an audio book depends on the narrator who's reading the book. Thanks for your interest and good words. I'll look into doing audio books. Best, Ed

Ed Lynskey Hi Donna, I just noticed your question. Thanks for your interest in my books. Lately, I've been writing cozy mysteries and like to use puns. But the puns for a title have to be short to fit on the front cover of a book. I write lists of candidate titles and brainstorm for ideas, too. Happy reading this spring and summer, Ed
