David Teachout To be perfectly honest, the two books published were more for figuring out the process. A great deal of the entries in them have since been edited and it's a profoundly humbling experience to go back, wince, and then appreciate the growth that has happened since. Am I proud of having completed a project? Absolutely, and that's the point, I didn't aspire to write the next great book of religious philosophy, I simply wanted to know that I could set a goal and reach it in writing. Mission accomplished, warts and all.
David Teachout I read. Seriously, I read everything. What I write is not wholly unique, nobody's is, but my voice in approaching various subjects is mine. I read to explore what my relationship to it is and then from there see what spawns.
David Teachout Write about what makes you get up in the morning. The inspiration you have in your own life will resonate with others, simply by existing in this shared existence called humanity. Further, if you're writing isn't an expression of your joy in life then readers will pick up on it and move on. I'm not saying this is a foolproof way of making your millions, but I'm a strong believer in doing what you love and only then finding out how to make a living at it.
