Prepare yourself, learn the craft and write a lot. Make lots of mistakes while writing only to yourself, and only then start showing your work to other people.

Mother told me never to trust strangers, liars, or outside counsel.
One day, I wasn't sure if she was really my mother and why she kept telling me to all those horrible things.

I'd buy a house with a great view, and probably a private library, in Minas Tirith, for sure!

Only one: Wanderers, by Chuck Wendig. I've read a couple of chapters and it's pretty clear this title is one of those life-changing novels. :)

Being able to discover, face and, hopefully, overcome limitations and fears. One does not truly write until meeting fears so deep and hidden that could never be unearthed otherwise.

I normally don't suffer from writer's block, because I'm all too aware it means narrative problems or me trying to push on with a scene that doesn't belong. So, when I hit the block, I either drop the scene or come back a few pages to see if I really need, or if I can do without, that content.
When I get stuck, it tends to happen because I'm not sure about the idea (this happens a lot before I actually start writing) or I'm still missing a key piece of the narrative. I like going in with the opening and closing scenes, it defines my boundaries. It helps. But, as previous experiences had clearly showed, it can be proven difficult and time consuming even before the first word is down. However, that's not writer's block for me... it's careful development, since it's what I've always done with my feature screenplays. Not overthinking, just finding the key pieces, or beats, before you nose dive into the story. :D
