Wow. This is a tough choice. Romantically, Matthew Scudder and Elaine Mardell in Lawrence Block's Scudder series. I love the way Block unites these two broken people into a solid, intimate couple. I'd like to hang with them.

Just write anything - even if it's words that do not necessarily go together. My experience is that writer's block comes from over-thinking. Just write - even if it has nothing to do with your current project, it will lessen the creative juices up a bit.
