Oh, I would definitely recommend Traveling the Lost Road. It's a solid quick read with a lot of fun and heart, and will give you a good feel for my writing style. (Sorry it took so long to respond, I guess I need to log in more often)

Thanks for the question Azreal2010. :) The next book will be called Ambrosia, it's another harem comedy and a spiritual successor to Kharmic Rebound. It takes place in a steampunk fantasy version of ancient Greece, where the gods live in gated communities and are like the CEO's of corporations. What's cool about it is that there will be three separate endings, allowing the reader to choose which heroine the hero will end up with. If all goes well it should go live in March of 2017.

Of course I don't mind you asking. It's super fun to answer questions like this. :)
I would love to do something like that. In fact, I've already got a pretty solid outline worked out. :) The working title is Kharmic Revenge, and it would involve...whoops, almost spoiled it for ya. ;P
Right now I'm working on Ambrosia, which is very much a spiritual successor to Kharmic Rebound, but after that if I can find the time I would love to write another book with Gerald and the girls. :)
Oh, and you can see more of the cast from Kharmic Rebound on the webcomic I publish to my facebook page here:

Isle of Wysteria book three: The Monolith Crumbles.

Ultimately my career goal is to have enough money that I can buy a volcanic island and live on it like a super-villain.
That keeps me plenty motivated.

Doing panels at conventions is a ton of fun, but seriously the best feeling in the world is when someone comes up and tells you how much your story meant to them. That connection through the art is just spiritual honey.

Good question. Believe it or not, it was all inspired by a song, Wake me up Inside by Evanescence.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wXcdYBh...
That song just gave me these chilling images of a person trapped in a nightmare, becoming a monster from the inside out, and I knew I had to write a story about it.
I always do my world building to reinforce the central theme, so I created a scenario where humanity faces an unbeatable foe, a foe born from the evils within the human heart itself.
While the demons of the Uragan are pure evil, humans are a mixture of good and evil, and I tried to paint them as such, drawing a lot from my love of civil war and middle age history. To reinforce Nariko's inner struggle, humanity is in decline, constantly losing ground it can never regain, numbly reciting ancient rituals and borrowed technology whose secrets they could never hope to inravel. There is no innovation, no true victory, only a steady withdraw further and further into a corner until inevitability.
I fully plan to continue the series. There are two more books planned, Heart of a Tyrant, and Heart of a Demon.
