Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Philip Cook I have a passion for fantasy and science-fiction literature, and a strong desire to share my Christian faith. What a better way to combine both in a story about the magical world of Erden, where both truth and fantasy merge to become a story of faith, friendship, and the eternal battle between good and evil.

How do you get inspired to write?
Philip Cook I read boos and more books, reading different authors styles and stories make a great way to get inspired. I also like to go for a walk in the morning by my self and in the evening with my wife, and we talk about the "what ifs" of this or that. Sometimes something that happened during the week makes me want to share it as a tale. Specially when I learned a lesson, had a victory or I was able to share my faith with others trying to help them.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Philip Cook I take my wife on a date to Starbucks, I sit her down and say to her: I have this scene stuck in my mind but I don't know how to write it, now be a good wife and tell me what to do! :)

We bounce ideas back and forth, sometimes it takes weeks talking about the same, until it happens!

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Philip Cook I get to share my ideas, imagination and faith with others, I get to tell a story. More than anything, I like to escape to the world I've created.

It is like watching a movie and I am describing it.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Philip Cook Write! It doesn't really matter if your grammar or/and spelling skills are not polished, if you have a story to tell, people want to read it!

Enjoy the process and let the editors worry about proper English structure.

Philip Cook I am working on finishing book ll of the Erden Chronicles series. I am half way done!
