Dan Verner There are so many good things about being a writer I can't choose one. Well, I will choose one and add to the list every so often.

#1: I get to write about things that happen to me or to other people, living or dead, throughout all of history. So watch out what you do or say--you might wind up in one of my novels!
Dan Verner I don't wait for Inspiration (whoever she is) to come in and tell me what or how to write. I sit down in the same chair at the same time every day and write for about the same amount of time. If I waited to be inspired I never would write anything. She is a fickle woman, that Inspiration! You might have noticed a theme in these answers: just write! Keep writing! Don't look back! Don't care about what anyone thinks! Write, darn you, write!
Dan Verner Write! Write about everything that interests you and a few things that don't. Keep writing! Ignore what anyone says about your writing.
Seek out people who will read your writing and give you an honest assessment of what you've done.
Share what you've written with anyone who will listen. If they don't want to listen, keep reading! Chase them around reading to them if necessary!
Don't give up! Dr. Suess was rejected by 27 publishers. I think he is a girlie-man because my first novel was rejected by 35 of them! Take that, Theodore!
Dan Verner I'm about 16,000 words into Book 5 of the "Beyond the Blue Horizon" series, entitled "On the Wings of Faith." I hope to have it finished by mid-November. Stay tuned!
Dan Verner I started writing about the time I learned to read. Writer's block doesn't trouble me because I keep writing regardless of the quality. I can always edit it or throw it away later. Another author, when asked this question, said, "I lower my standards and keep writing." Keep writing! Something will come of it.
Dan Verner "On the Wings of Eagles" is a sequel to my first novel, "On Wings of the Morning." Soon after the first book was published, readers asked for a sequel. I asked them to write the publisher and tell them they wanted another book about Otto and his friends. eLectio Publishing not only agreed to a sequel, but pushed the publishing date up six months to meet the demand. Such is the power of Faithful Readers!
