Kathy Johncox The idea for "What A Kiss Can Do" came from a short story I wrote several years ago. I wanted to write an unconventional love story or romance because I had read so many with the same formula. Then I heard about National Novel Writing Month, a.k.a. NaNoWriMo for those in the know :) , that is, in the month of November you commit to write a novel of about 45,000 words. No self-editing during this process--just forge ahead. I had always thought the story about Rita could be a novel so I grabbed the chance to make it one by writing several thousand words each day during November --and I came out of it with a rough draft of this novel.
Kathy Johncox The best thing about being a writer is the ability to tell stories. It's all about the story. It's what I look for in books, but in movies and TV shows, too. If there is not a good story to be told or to be heard, somehow it feels like it's not worth it.
