David Chase Keep at it. It can take a long time to find your own voice.

David Chase A screenplay version of Grants Ferry.

How do you get inspired to write?
David Chase It only comes after a lot of pondering. I don't write backstory, but I tell it, over and over until it becomes real. Then I write.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
David Chase As long as I can remember, there's been a run down, former hotel in Bennington, Vermont. I always thought if I were to write a novel it could be built around a similar hotel.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
David Chase Non-writer think it's magic. You can tell by the way they look at you when they discover you've written and published a novel.

David Chase I don't fight it. Some of my best solutions have come to me when I'm concentrating on something else.
