Verna Cole Mitchell After six long years of working idea by idea and page by page through my novel, I finally finished. Then a hacker stole it and published it under her name to rave reviews.
Verna Cole Mitchell The Road We Traveled by Jane Kirkpatrick; A Beauty So Rare, To Mend a Dream, Revealed , Rekindled, Remembered (all five by Tamera Alexander); A Scarlet Cord by Deborah Raney; A Matter of Trust by Susan May Warren; Miracle in a Dry Season by Sarah Loudin Thomas; Belonging by Robin Lee Hatcher; Unspoken by Dee Henderson, The Writing Desk , Diva Nash Vegas (both by Rachel Hauck); Safe in the Shepherd's Arms by Max Lucado; Sweetbriar Cottage by Denise Hunter . . .
Verna Cole Mitchell Emilie Getz and Jonas Fielding in BOOKENDS by Liz Curtis Higgs are a couple of many of my favorite fictional couples. The author presents these two opposites, strong characters, with humor to the point their differences don't matter.
Verna Cole Mitchell Seeing a picture of something I thought I had forgotten suddenly appear in written words before me . . . completing a poem that has been dancing in my head for some time . . . having a reader tell me something I have written inspired them or made them laugh or reminded them of something in their own lives . . . holding in my hands a book containing my work.
Verna Cole Mitchell I read something I enjoy. Something about seeing words fall together in a pattern agreeable to me challenges me to write--if only a short poem or only putting to paper (or computer) remembered phrases or descriptions overheard while "people listening" that made me smile or wonder.
Verna Cole Mitchell I have just completed my third book of poetry BLESSINGS, RIGHT AND LEFT. It is with my graphic designers and will hopefully be ready in Createspace in October. Also, I have a chapbook, entered in a contest that has made it to quarter finalist status. If it is not a winner, I will publish it at Createspace. The first book is a compilation of poems like my first two books. The chapbook is poems of my childhood. That was such fun to write.
