Heather Farthing "Shipwrecked" was inspired by a Pyramid Collection painting ("Castaway") of a human girl apparently demonstrating things washed up by shipwreck to mermaids. The "look" of the mermaids is much older than the concept of the story itself, and inspired by the beautiful but terrifying deep sea fish.

Heather Farthing Inspiration comes when it comes. It could be an exhibit in a museum, a bit of trivia in an online article, an abandoned building I like the look of. Sometimes it's dreams.
Heather Farthing Several things. I have writer's ADD and rarely work on just one thing for any length of time.
