Barbara Ross Hi Jackie--

I loved writing the Jane Darrowfield books and I'm so glad you enjoyed them. Unfortunately, the Jane books were one of those where the people who liked them really liked them, but there weren't enough people for my publisher to continue with them. Alas, there will be no more.

If you want to learn a little about what happened to Jane after the series ended, you can read that here, https://wickedauthors.com/2022/08/08/...
Barbara Ross Hi Kim-

All the Maine Clambake Mysteries take place in Maine--there are 12 novels and 6 novellas. I know Bath well and enjoy it very much. I have three non-Maine books as well--Death of an Ambitious Woman, and two books in the Jane Darrowfield series.

Thanks so much for asking.

Barbara Ross Hi Meredith--Thanks so much for writing. Jamie and Zoey announce their engagement at the end of Hidden Beneath--the final scene. Julia and Tom kiss at the end of that scene but we don't see them as a couple until "Hopped Along," my novella in Easter Basket Murder. That story will answer your question about Jacqueline and George as well. So far, Easter Basket Murder is only available in hardcover and ebook. The Kindle version is on sale for $3.99 now. The paperback will be out January 21, 2025. Hope this helps! Barb
Barbara Ross Hi Melodie--

I think there were definitely nods in the location. And Then There Were None influenced me in the sense that I am a huge Christie fan and of course the location. I didn't follow it beat by beat, but it was certainly in my mind as I wrote.
Barbara Ross Hi Beth!

I didn't know John and Kitty Fenwick. In fact the Kitty part comes from someone else entirely. Isn't that funny? Truth is stranger than...

Barbara Ross Hi! Thank you for asking. There will be three more Maine Clambake books and two more novellas, after Halloween Party Murder, just published. As for Julia and Chris--I'm not saying.
Barbara Ross Hi. So sorry I didn't see your question. Yes, there will be 3 more Maine Clambake Mysteries and 2 more novellas, after Halloween Party Murder, just published. Thanks for asking.
Barbara Ross I am so sorry I missed this question! Jane Darrowfield and the Madwoman Next Door is exclusive in print at Barnes and Noble. It will be available from Amazon and other retailers later this year.
Barbara Ross Hi Dawn. Shucked Apart is coming in February 2021.
Barbara Ross Hi Beth-

I do love Maine blueberries, especially when they are fresh in-season and all the little stands by the side of the road, though I do always freeze some for later use.

I really enjoyed doing the research for Boiled Over, including going to the blueberry festival in Machias and touring a blueberry farm.

I'm so glad you're enjoying the Maine Clambake Mysteries.

Barbara Ross Hi Annemarie-

There will definitely be one more, Stowed Away, coming in late 2017. After that, I will make a new proposal to my publisher for more. I'm glad you're enjoying the books.
Barbara Ross My mother-in-law ran a bed and breakfast in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, so the parts about the Snugg sisters are from experience. The owners of the Cabbage Island Clambake have been quite generous in answering my questions. The rest comes out of my imagination.
Barbara Ross Sadly, there is no contract for an audiobook for Iced Under. I have no idea why. There were audiobooks for all the others and Iced Under has sold as well or better. I loved working with Dara. She was so considerate and sent me questions about pronounciation, etc. Really did her homework.

You can try requesting it from Audible. I know others have.
Barbara Ross Favorite couple? Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James from Deborah Crombie’s series. Also, Dennis Lehane’s Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro. I also love mixed gender sleuths with platonic partnerships, Elizabeth George’s Chief Inspector Thomas Lynley and Detective Sergeant Barbara Havers, and on television, Elementary’s Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson.
Barbara Ross Location, location, location--as in, you can be in any.
Barbara Ross Hi MaryJo--

No, I never have, but it's definitely on the list because people rave about it. So far, I've been visiting Maine towns based on either research for the books, or requests for library talks. It's pretty random, but I'm seeing a lot of the state that way.

Chief of Police! I bet he has some stories.
Barbara Ross I am so glad you are enjoying the series! Yes, there will be at least three more books and one Christmas novella. Fogged Inn is up next, coming in February, 2016.

Thank you so much for asking.
Barbara Ross Hi Emily--I loved so many books when I was young. I think I read all the childhood classics and like many female mystery writers today, I was devoted to Nancy Drew. But I'm going to pick Edward Eager's Half Magic for the book I read over and over and over.

Thanks for asking!
