C.J. Carella Well, it took a while, but it is out as of yesterday.
C.J. Carella The audiobook is in production but I don't have a definite date of release. As to the editing, there are mistakes in the book (and I keep correcting and updating the manuscript) but I think some reviewers are exaggerating them out of malice (one reviewer essentially leaves the same review for almost all the books he critizes). Despite hiring proofreaders, mistakes always sneak through and I do my best to keep them at a minimum.
C.J. Carella Hello! Glad to hear you enjoyed the series so far. Book #4, Guilds at War, is already out (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08...) and I'm currently working on book #5, Court of Thorns.
C.J. Carella Hi! I have a fifth book in the works (tentatively titled The Many-Worlds Odyssey). It's been on hold for a while, but hoping to have it out sometime in 2018.
C.J. Carella At this point, my ebooks are exclusive with Amazon.com, so I can't use Overdrive. I'd love to see my books in libraries, but so far no library has shown interest in the printed versions (which are available everywhere).
C.J. Carella Yes, an audio version is being developed, using the same narrator who did Decisively Engaged. It looks like it will come out sometime in August, 2016.
C.J. Carella The first draft of No Price Too High (Warp Marines Book Two) is done and being edited. A couple personal issues slowed things down, unfortunately, so now I'm hoping to have the book out later this month.
C.J. Carella Not at the moment, but a couple years ago I ran a Nightbane-WitchCraft-World of Darkness mashup game that was pretty cool.
C.J. Carella I try to move to another segment of the story and skip the one giving me problems, or start working on a different story. The important thing is to keep writing.
C.J. Carella The money and glory, of course. Not. The joy you feel when something you have created reaches readers and they tell you about it (hint, hint, please reviews and e-mails are always welcome).
C.J. Carella Write. Write at least 4-5 times a week (every day is better). If you're too impatient to jump through hoops for traditional publishing, consider releasing something by yourself. The tools are there to actually become a publisher rather than a vanity publisher, and you can reach readers on your own, but the option is not without risks and has no guarantee of success.
In general, if writing is not something you're driven to do, then it's probably not for you. The journey is bound to be painful an d frustrating, unless you are lottery-winner-odds lucky.
C.J. Carella Doing final edits on Apocalypse Dance and revising Armageddon Girl, in preparation for a major promotional sale. Also doing work on my fourth novel, Shadowfall: Las Vegas and an RPG project. Keeping busy, in other words :)
C.J. Carella Originally it was an urge that could not be denied, a pressure to tell the stories building up in my head. Now that I'm doing it for a living, it's a combination of inspiration and perspiration. I think about my current stories (and future ones) a lot while I'm doing other stuff, and then I set aside at least 3 hours (shooting for 6) a day to do nothing but stare at the blank screen until the words come out.
C.J. Carella The usual, the voices in my head that never shut up. My current fiction series is my love letter to all the geeky things I've grown up: pulp fiction and comic books, movies and TV. The idea was to explore what would happen if the icons of the last hundred years were real, and how the world would be affected by those larger-than-life beings.
The main characters came from different sources. Christine was directly inspired by Felicia Day's Cyd Sherman (The Guild), with dashes of Kitty Pride from the X-Men. Face-Off owes much to Rorschach from Watchmen and a nod to various film noir characters.
