Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

P. Ryan Hembree Hayden's Guild. I wanted to showcase the devotion of a grandmother who lost her grandchild and through many years of searching, found her again. I began to weave a story around that sense of loss and what it would take to persevere in the final push to save the child. I used the theme of online gaming in a way that people would benefit others from gaming activities.

How do you get inspired to write?

P. Ryan Hembree I keep my mind open to any situation. My purse is stuffed with index cards in case I get inspired away from my computer. My greatest inspiration is from my life as a Christian. Sometimes, a scripture speaks to me and I can't get it out of my head. My mind begins to weave a story around the scripture, thus a new novel is born. Sometimes, a chance meeting with someone or a person I see on the street, or something I hear. Again, my mind captures that image and it weaves a story around the image.

What are you currently working on?

P. Ryan Hembree I'm developing a series, Lost and Found, featuring Paige Milner, an insurance investigator. Paige works her way through a variety of investigative situations while she works to deepen her relationship with God. The events she faces during the investigations also challenge her beliefs, and make the right choices.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

P. Ryan Hembree Keep at it. If you start a short story or novel, don't stop. If you can't be in front of your computer, at least think about the story. I'm either writing or thinking about writing. I never drop a story.
