My most recent book, Thicker Than Blood, was meant to be told from a different narrator's point of view. A change in narration would have made it an entirely different story. However, I chose to tell the story from Alaire's point of view because I've grown to love his character. I felt it was time he tell his story, especially since so far him, Celestria, and Leal have been major characters in the series. A lot of people have expressed interest in him, and I'm hoping this book will satisfy their hunger.

Nowadays music, art, and even tv shows can help inspire me to write. I love watching shows based back in a time era similar to that of my own books because it really helps with setting the mood. Music (instrumental mostly) can also help a great deal with setting the mood and also keeping me focused. Occasionally I glance at artwork on the internet and find it inspiring. And did I forget books? Books help a great deal too; I love reading someone else's work and being able to fall in love with the book. It inspires me to write in a way that will interest readers and to strive for higher goals.

The best part about being a writer is being able to share your story with readers and hearing their reactions. I also love attending book events and being able to meet authors and potential readers.

You can't give up. I read a quote once that talked about how when you're a true writer you never give up. I've had my fair share of rejections in the past, and even now as a published author I face some struggles. At the end of the day it's you and your book. You have to be willing to stand or fall with your book. Read anything and everything you can get your hands on, and constantly write whenever time permits. I've learned writing everyday helps me improve as a writer.

I'm currently preparing Thicker Than Blood, the third book in the Magicians series, for publication this August. After the book's release I plan to start writing the fourth book in the series right away.
