Liza O'Connor I read several books a week of all genres, but I seem fondest of those with a little mystery. Probably because I have a Victorian Sleuth series and a new book (Toxic Diamonds) coming up on July sixth of 2017. That's my fav series. But be warned: I don't take the easy road. I touch on many sensitive topics in my books
Liza O'Connor My ex-husband tried to kill me three times in 'accidents' and we weren't even fighting. (He wanted to cash in on my life insurance policy.) Took me a while to figure out what was going on and why.
Liza O'Connor Scavenger's Mission, Scavenger Falters and Scavenger Vanishes are all about a fabulous young woman who lives in our future after the Terror Wars changed our lives forever. She was raised as a socialite, then ran away and became a street girl, then a new friend 'borrowed' a wind-catcher so she could see if she had her gramps skill in flying. Since she had never been told what couldn't be done, in a single month she had skills far beyond what was thought possible.

I used to fly planes, hang glide, and parachute. When designing the wind-catcher, I used my knowledge of each in the design. Also a plastic bag in strong winds caught my attention - Alisha flies in winds up to 200 mph.
Liza O'Connor I dream about stories in my sleep. If they are so good that I remember them the next day, I'll start writing.
Liza O'Connor Right this second, I'm working on the final touch ups for book 2 of the SkyRyder series, Scavenger Falters. It's coming out Dec 30, 2016 and I'm very happy with it. I hope my readers will be as well.
Liza O'Connor Don't try to go it alone. You'll need assistance. Join writer groups that can help you. If you go with a publisher, they'll assign you an editor, if you go it alone, you need to hire your own editor. Not all editors are compatible. Some won't appreciate you 'voice' while others will love it. Find one who loves it. (I strongly prefer the latter.)

And be warned for most of it, it doesn't pay well.
Liza O'Connor There is nothing that can't be written. Every possibility is available. The world is mine to create.
Liza O'Connor I don't normally get writer's block, but when I do, I set the book aside and go back a few months later. If the problem is that I have written myself into a corner, then I'll go back and rewrite the book so that corner is gone. For example in The Darkest Days originally I wrote that Tubs died, but that put me into months of mourning, so I rewrote it so Tubs was severely injured, but lived.
