Rosalind James We had the chance to move there permanently when hubby was working there. We chose to come back. I regret it. Yes, I absolutely could. Instead I go back every year (except this past year and a half of course) for a few months.
Rosalind James Hi! Luke and Hayden show up again in KIWI STRONG. I love them both, so it was fun to have them along for the ride again. I don’t write M/M romance because I frankly don’t have enough insight into LGBTQ relationships to do it justice, but I’ll keep having a diverse cast of characters in my books. Thank you for the question!
Rosalind James It is Poppy! And yes, I'm dying to write her story. I know what you mean about Koro. I'm wishing I hadn't made him so old in the first book, because I can't stand the thought that he will die. :( Debbie DOES need him, and so does his whanau.
Rosalind James Well, you can see how easy (or not) it is for me to see these questions! Sorry it is taking so long to answer. Just Say (Hell) No has a lot of Josie and Hugh in it.
Rosalind James Ha yep. My home town. And I have no imagination so have to use real places. But since I was using people in real positions and departments, I thought best to change the name. Also, "Paradise" is cooler.
Rosalind James Hi Minya. Gosh, I have lots of favorites, I think! With heroes, I think it's Finn from JUST FOR NOW. With heroines, I think possibly it's Hope from FIERCE etc. And then there's Arthur from JUST STOP ME. I loved writing Arthur.

When I'm in the book, I know that I just really like all the characters. It's a wrench to finish the book and have to leave them.

Thank you so much for telling me what you thought of HOLD ME CLOSE! I loved Luke too. He was a keeper!
Rosalind James Thanks for asking! As it happens, that's the book I'm just starting now. And it's called "Just Say Yes," which is sorta ironic, huh?

Meanwhile, I really hope you'll consider reading Silver-Tongued Devil, which is out in a couple days. It's a lot like the NZ books, I think, and the people who've read it so far have really liked it. Got a great hero and heroine, IMHO.

Thanks for the question!
Rosalind James Hi Winnifred! Actually, FIERCE (and FRACTURED and, soon, FOUND) is the "book-within-a-book" from JUST IN TIME. It's the book Faith was writing in that book. So it's my book, and Hope's book, but it's also Faith's book, and you can see a bit of Will in Hemi. It was fun to do.
Rosalind James Thank you! Yes, isn't rugby great? To answer your question: I have to write Book 4 of the Paradise, Idaho series next for Montlake Romance, & then I'm writing the second in the Not Quite a Billionaire series (Book 1 is FIERCE, which has a Maori hero). And THEN another NZ book, I think! Which will make Book 10 come out in autumn 2016. That's the tentative plan, anyway.
Rosalind James Hi--wow, what an interesting question. I've never written an LGBTQ story, because I would be concerned that I couldn't do it justice. I do have close friends and family members who aren't straight, but I think it's hard to write that far out of your own experience. But--it's a really interesting idea for a secondary romance. And thanks for letting me know you enjoy the books! Rugby is a wonderful sport, isn't it?
Rosalind James Hi, Vicki! Actually, I grew up in Moscow, Idaho. I find I can write most easily about places I've actually lived. :) You may see a few similarities to Moscow in the books, if you know it. Where in Idaho were you raised?
Rosalind James I'd love to, but I don't know enough about SA. I've had SA friends (in fact, it was a former SA rugby player who introduced me to the sport! Watched it with me on TV & explained what was happening to me.) But I wouldn't be able to do a SA heroine justice, I don't think, since it's such a unique country. I have to know my heroine's whole story and her life, and I don't think I could visualize her enough. Thank you so much.
Rosalind James What a good question! I've got two full-length novels coming out in the next few months: JUST IN TIME (Escape to New Zealand), in Brenda Novak's SWEET TALK boxed set, on May 1, and CARRY ME HOME (Paradise, Idaho), from Montlake Romance on June 16. (That one is romantic suspense!) Both are available for preorder now (SWEET TALK everywhere, and CARRY ME HOME Amazon-only).
