Then write the best query letter you can, make sure you personalize it, research which agents you would like to submit it to, and keep at it! Learn as much as you can about writing and marketing. That's an interesting question. Usually my inspiration comes directly from my life's experiences - the people I have met and the places that I have traveled to. My imagination then works to create different characters and their identities, dreams, goals, etc.
