R.A. Gates the book I just finished is the sequel for the first one, Pucker Up. I had to finish Ivy's story, of course. After writing about 75% of it, I realized that her story was going to take 3 books so I stopped writing at a decent stopping point and sent it off to my beta readers. Book 2 is titled Sucking Face. It's the story of Ivy and the gang AFTER they find the cursed Prince Sebastian. The concluding book is titled Lip Smacked. I'm working on that while SF is being reviewed by my beta team. The inspiration for the trilogy is that I was tired of the damsel in distress and wanted to flip the roles so now it's the female character saving the prince.
R.A. Gates I don't wait for inspiration to hit me to write. I have set writing times and I write something, anything during those times. It doesn't take long before I'm on a roll and typing away.
R.A. Gates Write! You can't edit or publish anything until you write it. even if you think it sucks, you'll get better. Just keep on typing.
R.A. Gates Being able to do and say things that I would never do in real life.
R.A. Gates If I get writer's block for my current work in progress, I will write something else. I have many ideas for future books so I'll write a scene for one of those. My brain will keep working through my blockage and then BAM... I know what to do to keep writing my WIP.
Talking it out with my daughter or writing pals also helps. They might suggest something which will lead to a chain of ideas and one will stand out.
R.A. Gates I'm currently working on Lip Smacked, the follow up book to Pucker Up.
