Lance Conrad There will absolutely be more books. The Historian Tales will be finished when I release The Price of History, which will be the Historian's story in full; everything that happened before he became a Historian, and everything that happens after he remembers his name.
It's gonna be fun. :)
But until you see that book, you can know there are more Tales on their way. There wasn't one ready for this year because the pandemic has forced me to reinvent my marketing, so that has taken up the bulk of my time. But I'll soon be back to full production.
Lance Conrad I don't think I'd be able to pick a favorite book, or even favorite author. I don't know if I could even pick a favorite genre!
As for what inspired me to start writing, I'd say I'd credit a really bad book I read back in 7th grade. This thing had no ending. ZERO! Hard stop. And it frustrated me so much that I made up my own ending to the book. I think I've been making up stories ever since.
Lance Conrad Thank you! I deeply appreciate that. I'll admit that book production has been put on hold for a very little while. Being an author is my primary vocation, and much of that was dependent on traveling around, speaking, conventions, etc. As you might imagine, the pandemic has shaken things up like a snow globe! So I'm taking a little bit to develop new marketing methods and channels. That has taken up a lot of my time. But the ideas continue to churn, so when I get back to writing full time, it'll be a bunch all at once!
Lance Conrad You have it exactly right. The Historian Tales are not published in chronological order. If anything, The Price of Creation happened towards the end of his journeying, and you can see a little of that in the calm, almost tired approach to things. The Price of Loyalty happened closer to the beginning, and you see a little more of a raw, unpracticed side to him.
Lance Conrad That would probably have to be "What is your darkest secret?"
It would be an odd thing indeed if my darkest secret was something I shared willingly with strangers :)
Lance Conrad I have a small group of trusted friends that form my "inner circle." They are brilliantly creative and I trust their judgement. When I get stuck, I go and talk ideas with them. I seldom actually use their ideas, but simply by talking it out, my brain gets going again and I'm off to the races!
