I almost never get writer's block. What I get are a lot of distractions since I also try to seriously publish my entire series. The few times I have ever had writer's block, it's usually because the pen has caught up to the mind and all I need to do is wait a day or two and more story will be available to write down. If you look at it that way and don't freak out, life is much easier and you won't develop an emotional block, which is much harder to deal with.

Many people like to dig up buried chests filled with treasure. As a writer, you get to fill the chest with treasure and bury it where it will be difficult to find. Then you get to watch while some people search for the treasure and others simply curse the existence of the chest. The watching is the most perverse but enjoyable part.
