Open a new document and just start writing. Anything. Make up characters and the story line in a chain-of-consciousness manner. Just have some fun. Make it outrageous, silly, erotic or just plain stupid.
After a page or two, I find I've broken the through the barrier. Usually I close the file without saving it. However, once in a while a remnant or two is worth keeping for future stories.
