My grandmother always said, "Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today". My own favourite question is, "What would you do if you weren't afraid?"

Hi Lisa! Yes, your copy is on its way. I'm afraid our local postal service sometimes lets us down with irregular deliveries, but I assure you, the parcel is being tracked and will reach you shortly. Thanks for following up and do enter again the next time I run a giveaway on one of my books.

Thanks for asking, Lois. This was a decision I took early on in the writing for technical reasons. When discussing relationships, as I do on every page of this book, it's easy to confuse the reader with regard to who you are talking about. I chose to use the female pronoun to refer to the blind person because I included a fair amount of autobiographical material and felt I could speak with more authority that way. However, I can see that it could be taken to infer that visually-impaired people are all female, or that the book only targets companions of female visually-impaired people. English can be very discriminatory that way, but I hope it doesn't detract from the main message of the book, which is that vision loss is not synonymous with loss of intelligence, potential for growth, or creativity.

This is a question I enjoy answering. Some people get inspired to write by scenarios that trigger their imagination, leading to a great plot. For me, ideas always grow out of incongruent statements of belief. I'm fascinated by the way people tolerate inconsistency in their lives and how this leads to unforeseen and sometimes disastrous consequences.

Being a writer lets me give voice to my thoughts, beliefs and values. I would burst if I couldn't pour them out on paper! Also, it's about producing something which you can give to the world, something which carries my message and my heart. From conception to release, and on to marketing, the process of writing books is eminently worthwhile.
