Oli Jacobs My most recent non-short-story book, Strange Days in High Wycombe, was inspired by the likes of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and also Withnail & I, as well as my own adventures in my university town as a drinking debauch. I liked the idea of a pompous character being the protagonist, even though he isn't that likeable, and watching him dig his own grave (so to speak).
Oli Jacobs I look over the list of ideas I have, and see which one grabs me the most. This usually comes about in the story forming in my head as soon as I see the notes I've made. From there, it's about following that path and seeing if it keeps me interested.
Oli Jacobs Currently working on (as of December 2014) Filmic Cuts 7 and Kirk Sandblaster 5, although other ideas are lingering on the precipice...
Oli Jacobs Quite simple, write. Find something that intrigues/inspires you, see where it goes, and don't be afraid. Don't think about what other people will like, or what rules of writing you should follow, just tell your tale and make sure that you love it.
Oli Jacobs Creating. Be it worlds, characters, or just simple tales, creating is the best thing in the world. Seeing those things come to life due to your own flickering fingers is an amazing feeling.
