The collapse of the Late Bronze Age, and the arrival of the Sea Peoples, is one of the defining moments of ancient Middle Eastern history. Nobody quite knows what happened, but the overall impact was to sweep away cultures which had been established for centuries. What was it like to live in those times? To be displaced by incoming armies, and your city burned? Sadly, it is a situation still afflicting that region. I wanted to write this story following each of several different groups, to get a sense of the whole tapestry of culture and life.

An update to this... currently I'm working on two rather different books set in the near-future science fiction world of Far from the Spaceports. Not sure which will come to a conclusion first but hopefully 2018 will see the outcome.
