Hi Alison. I have a thriller novel question. My book is about a global US black-ops force that has secretly committed war crimes from 1972 to 2008, when the book takes place. Each President and SecDef since then have kept it hidden from Congress, the CIA, and the Pentagon. My question: How do I portray the 2008 President, SecDef, joint chiefs, etc.? By their real names, fictitious names, or their titles only? Thanks

So, I have a sister-in-law who married a Kiwi but they now live in Sydney, Australia. I have an Indie novel (set in the Midwest, USA) being published in October. Any thoughts on how to promote a book in NZ/AUS by an American author? -- A. J.

Hi, Alison, Has the rising ocean become a problem in New Zealand?

Alison Ripley Cubitt Hi Gloria,

New Zealand, unlike some of it's Pacific neighbours, ie. Kiribati, is not low lying, therefore the effects of rising oceans, thus far has not had a major impact. Like everywhere else, there does seem to be more storms now. And the glaciers may be melting as they are in Antarctica, for example.

Alison Ripley Cubitt I'm snowed under with reviews at the moment, as I have just joined the GR non-reciprocal review group for non-fiction and have four books to review.
