Hi Maria, thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to tell me you loved Witch Dust - you've made my day. I will definitely be writing more in the Witch series, but I'm afraid I'm not a fast writer, so it may be a little while. In fact I have to finish the fourth book in the Strange series first. But your lovely message might just be the wake-up call I need.

Probably from watching a magic show on tv and thinking are they really, really clever or is the more obvious answer that they're actually practising magic!

The truth is, sometimes the inspiration is there and sometimes it's just not. On the occasions it's absent, there's really nothing much to do but wait for it to come back and hit you again - and when it does, the ideas just come, sort of fully formed.

I'm at the proofing stage with my next book Witch Dust, which is a standalone paranormal thriller, coming out in August. And then I'm writing Stranger Still, the third book in the Strange trilogy.

I think my advice would be, don't think about it, just sit down and write. Too much thinking about it, only gets in the way.

I think it's the chance to make your own rules for your own story. That's the bit I enjoy the most anyway.
