On a hill north of Pyongyang, a boy crawled out of a cave not much larger than himself, lesions already pockmarked his face, hot rock hurt his feet. He stared in shock at the ocean of smoldering rubble that stretched as far as he could see, cried silently, then crawled back into the cave.

Many of us grew up with characters that went on to live mysterious lives. I drew on one's experiences in particular in one of my stories. Don't have any idea what actually became of her but her story could easily fill a book. Another dropped from sight after roaming the streets of London dressed like a fierce version of Jesus.

I don't suffer from write's block other than occasionally searching my mind for an elusive word. Usually I wake up before dawn whether I want to or not. In that pre-dawn period, I like to think about what I'm writing and ideas for where to take the story or how to improve it come readily. Later in the morning, I either make use of them or at least enter them as notes for future use.

Two Loves Found is a sequel to my first novel. A number of readers expressed a hope for further adventures of Delbert and Sylvia. The trick was to create a meaningful story around Delbert's new situation.
