Middle-earth (Tolkien) or Discworld (Pratchett). I wouldn’t be a hero... more likely tinkering in a small town, grumbling about all the chaos the main characters drag in while trying to live an ordinary life.

Writing has cut into my reading time... I’ve read my own book about a hundred times by now. But I do have a stack waiting: The Court of the Dead (Riordan) is up next, I’m currently reading The Icarus Twin (Zahn), and I’ve got Douglas Adams’s Starship Titanic: A Novel (Jones) queued. Also on deck are The Secret of Secrets (Brown), The Sacred Mask (Leadbeater), and the new Kingdom Keepers (Pearson).

When I was a kid (and sometimes even now), I had vivid dreams about events that hadn’t happened yet. Most of the time I’d forget them, but when life lined up later, I’d get this overwhelming sense of déjà vu. That strange overlap of dream and reality… yeah, that could definitely be a story.
