Edith Maxwell Thanks for asking, Hilary. At this time I have no more planned after book five, Mulch Ado About Murder. Please check out my Quaker Midwife Mysteries, though, and my two series written as Maddie Day: the Country Store Mysteries and the Cozy Capers Book Group Mysteries!
Edith Maxwell I am delighted you love that series. At this time I have no plans for a sixth book, Wyshona. Please check out my historical Quaker Midwife Mysteries, though, and both my contemporary cozy series written as Maddie Day!
Edith Maxwell Faythe, thanks so much for your interest. Right now I don't have plans to release on after Mulch Ado About Murder, but you never know!
Edith Maxwell I'm sorry I missed this question, Wyshona! MULCH ADO ABOUT MURDER will be out at the end of May, and I'll be doing a Goodreads giveaway sometime soon. Thanks so much for your interest.
Edith Maxwell I'm sorry I missed this question, Christy! It's definitely a clean read without foul language. I hope you enjoy it!
Edith Maxwell I'm halfway through Local Foods Mysteries #4, so far titled COMPOST MORTEM, with intrigue surrounding a local poultry farmer's murder and the mysterious disappearance of an Irish exchange student in the past.

And as soon as that book is done, I'll dive into Country Store Mysteries #2, EGGS AND SLASHED BROWNS. Robbie Jordan has to deal not only with flagging sales at her country store restaurant, but also with the murder of her boyfriend's sister-in-law. In Robbie's own restaurant.
Edith Maxwell For me, the best thing is when something happens that I didn't plan. I'm typing along and a character falls off her chair, and I have no idea why. Did she have a heart attack? Was she poisoned? Did she faint? I typed the darn thing and am surprised. This is magic, and I love it.

But second best is hearing from readers that they loved my books. That they were surprised. That they learned something. Also magical.
Edith Maxwell My rule is, "butt in the chair, fingers on the keyboard." Something always emerges. And when even that doesn't work, I go for a long walk with my phone in my pocket. I talk to myself, asking, "What's next?" When inspiration inevitably strikes, I dictate the ideas into a notes app so I don't lose them. Also - deadlines are great motivators!
