If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?
Brandon Cloud I'd visit the world of The Guncle—somewhere sun-soaked, dramatic, queer, and a little ridiculous. I’d sit on that porch with a drink and finally, for once, let myself be a character who’s already survived the hard part.

What books are on your summer reading list this year?
Brandon Cloud I gravitate toward queer lit that knows how to hurt—Yerba Buena, We Are Okay, and anything by Ocean Vuong. I also keep some rage-and-redemption stories nearby, just in case I need reminding why I write in the first place.

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?
Brandon Cloud Reverb in the Fog came out of the silence I grew up in—the kind that makes you shrink to survive. I wanted to write a love story that felt like a bruise finally healing, set in a place where queerness, grief, and legacy all collide. It’s fiction, but it’s also me—rewritten with more hope.
