The freedom that comes with it. Writing, at least for me, is free of constraint, of expectations, of the need to please. I can create: characters, lives, outcomes.

That would be Unbroken. The inspiration for it was quite simply, the question, when did you first know you were gay? From there the idea developed to take the reader on my journey, to grab him or her by the hand and make them walk in my footsteps.

I wait for it to pass. I find "forcing" writing results in rather pedestrian writing. My writing is far better if I take a break or "sleep on it." Once the words start flowing I write again.

That said i never have writers block, I need 27 hours in the day to write all that fills my head and heart.
I've hit speed bumps but I just work on something else till I get over the bump. ...more

I've heard a lot of writers say their heads are filled with ideas and stories and words. I’m always astonished and awed by that. As for card playing,
I've heard a lot of writers say their heads are filled with ideas and stories and words. I’m always astonished and awed by that. As for card playing, I’m not much of a gambler so I’d have an easy time walking away from a losing streak. Same with my writing: if the words aren’t coming, I step away rather than trying to write simply to write because in the end I wouldn’t be satisfied with what I wrote.
