Hello Jenny! Thanks for stopping by. Yes, all the books in the Stratford High Series will be retelling of one of Shakespeare's play. Book Two is based on The Merchant of Venice and is tentatively title 4Ever Girl. Should be available January 2015. Take care!!

I work on something else for awhile, and then when I'm feeling revitalized, I get back to that frustrating blank page. Hopefully, with renewed energy and ideas. Hopefully.

Finishing a novel! There's nothing like the feeling that you've accomplished something special. Not all novels are worthy of publication, but at least you've taken an idea from beginning to end, and there's joy in knowing that.

Newby writers should read, read, read, and then with the rest of their time, they need to get involved in a writers' critique group. They may have to try a few groups before they find the one that really works for them. But when it's the right fit, they will enjoy years of fellowship, support, and friendship with like-minded souls.

This is a hard question for a writer. Some ideas just pop into my brain unbidden, others are inspired by something I've witnessed in one way or another. The really annoying ideas stick around till I have to write them down. From there it's a gamble. Some ideas are good and worth my time to investigate. Others are worthless, and I have to let them go. Once I get started on writing a novel, I pray and pray that I've selected the right idea.

I've been in love with William Shakespeare ever since junior high when I saw my first production at the Goodman Theater in Chicago. Since then, I've enjoyed summer plays in the park, trips to Stratford-Upon-Avon to see his birthplace, a tour of the new Globe Theater in London, and reading biographies of his life. I wanted to be a part of this Shakespeare world, but how? The only way I could - write something. I picked the play I loved the best - Much Ado About Nothing, and tried to make it appealing to a modern audience.
