I've always enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember. I started writing stories 20 years ago, just writing about the joy of parenting my two children. After a while I realized that I had a knack for writing children's stories and decided I would take it more seriously leading to my first published book in 2024.
I am working on my second book, due for release Summer 2025!

I would definitely go to Wonderland, from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll. I think I'd enjoy sipping some tea with the Mad Hatter as I try to sift through all of Wonderlands nonsensical logic.

R.L. Taylor: The Case of the Lost Heirloom. The beautiful golden locket necklace with a black onyx and diamond embedded on the top, was passed down in my family from generation to generation until one fateful summer in 1991 when it would be lost forever...

When I get writer's block, I'll stop writing for a period of time to go experience wonderment. I need to quiet my mind and just enjoy a good museum day, time with family, or simply play with my dog then I'll get back to writing again!

The best thing about being a writer is connecting with readers. There is a lot of vulnerability in writing and when you find readers that appreciate your work and grasp the essence of your writing; to me there's nothing more rewarding than that!

Publish your book when you are ready, don't rush the process. I wrote my story 20 years ago, and I do not regret having published my book only recently. Had I published back then, I most likely would not have had the fortitude and knowledge needed to market the book nor would I have had the backing of my amazing publishing team and illustrator who have helped make my publishing dream a reality.

Funny enough, I get inspired from everyday things without preamble. I do not have one specific way to get inspired. Basically, whenever my heart gets so full about something and I feel that I can't contain it, that's when inspiration hits me, and I feel compelled to write. After that, sound judgement will set in, and I will choose the topic that I believe will resonate with readers the most.

The idea for my new book, "When It's Time for Bed: Bean's Bedtime Story" came from my real-life experiences as a single parent trying to put my tactical 5-year-old son, Elijah to bed after a long day's work. His attempts to avoid going to bed were so comical to me that I had to write about it.
