Randolph Randy Camp An actual mystery in my life is a "who's the girl?" story. When I attended Robert E. Lee Elementary School in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, I had the biggest crush on this one particular girl but I never had the courage to tell her. And today, after all these years later, that particular elementary classmate is one of my many Facebook Friends. (As of this date, in 2017, I haven't revealed to anyone the name of this 'mystery girl'.)
Randolph Randy Camp Jack and Crystal from 'Wet Matches: A Novel' because of the contrast of their background.
Randolph Randy Camp Periodically, I do find myself in a writer's 'slump' so I deal with this by taking a nice walk at the city park. A nice long walk clears my mind of all the clutter, and that allows for new thoughts to easily flow in.
Randolph Randy Camp I absolutely love being a writer because I get to 'go places' without buying a ticket, meaning that my mind and stories can take me anywhere. Also, I get a kick out of speaking to young people about creative writing and whenever I'm invited to do a Classroom Book Talk at a high school.
Randolph Randy Camp My greatest advice for aspiring writers is to make sure that all of your characters have their own unique voice, and try to prevent one character from sounding the same as another character within your story.
Randolph Randy Camp I'm currently working on an 'untitled' novel.
Randolph Randy Camp I can easily get inspired to write about something simply by being amazed by an object such as a certain flower (False Dandelions), a match (Wet Matches), or a coin (29 Dimes).
Randolph Randy Camp '29 Dimes' looks at life in Los Angeles through the eyes of a diverse group of teens. When I ran the LA Marathon (twice actually) I noticed the many different neighborhoods along the 26-mile marathon route and I knew that one day I just had to write a story about LA's different cultures.
