Elissa Plug I am inspired to write by everyday events around me; snippets of stories you catch from people chatting in line at the post office or in a coffee shop; books I'm reading or even tv shows.
Elissa Plug I'm currently working on my new novel, The Jewel Thief. It's another novel set in the World War One/Depression period here in Perth, Western Australia. The protagonist, Anna, is a fiery Polish girl who has to resort to stealing to survive during the Depression.
Elissa Plug Don't let anything get you down or stop you from writing! If you love writing, you'll do it, even if no one wants to read it.
Elissa Plug The best thing about being a writer for me is being completely in control of events in your story; being able to make whatever you like happen to your characters. Being able to explore your creativity and let your imagination run wild is a liberating and compelling experience.
Elissa Plug Force myself to write whatever comes into my head, and then edit it later! Or go for a long walk, take a shower, do some mundane floor-scrubbing - whatever gets me thinking long and hard about whatever is stumping me.
