It's odd. I've never considered my lack of writing as being 'writer's block'. My characters' stories are still running wildly through my head, I just do not feel compelled to write them down. When you commit stories to black and white, you release them from yourself and allow others to meet them. Right now, they are mine. I can take the time to get to know them better. Who knows? Maybe some gorgeous man-hunk will turn out to be a slime ball. I'd rather the slime ball get his just desserts in the end, rather than slip through the cracks.
But, when I've been bad and not adhered to my writing schedule, the only answer is to get back up on that horse until your thighs ache. Write interesting emails to your friends, read a classic, before you go to sleep, picture your characters in your mind, do a few crossword puzzles, and learn to love the written word all over again.
