Allison Brennan I'm so sorry I just saw this!!! Liam and Eden are in MAKE THEM PAY. :)
Allison Brennan Hi Adam! Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed the latest book! Definitely not the end of Quinn & Costa -- I'm working on book 7 now (currently untitled) which is set in Florida and Georgia and I think is a very exciting story. Then, I have at least one more planned after, and hopefully more.
Allison Brennan Hi Linda: Thank you so much for asking. I love the Lucy Kincaid series, but after 17 books and many novellas, I needed a break -- I didn't have any fresh ideas for the characters. I also had other story ideas I wanted to explore with different characters. I don't want to be bored writing, and I definitely don't want my readers to feel I'm re-telling stories. However, I never intended to end the series ... now, it's really just a matter of time and coming up with a really great idea to re-launch the series. It won't happen in the next year or two because of my other writing commitments -- and I haven't found that one idea I'm in love with. I wish I had a more concrete answer! Best, Allison
Allison Brennan Hi Serena! Thank you so much. Here is my schedule that I have confirmed:

SEE HOW THEY HIDE -- Quinn & Costa #6 Jan 7, 2025
DON'T SAY A WORD -- Angelhart #2 June 17, 2025
BEACH READS AND DEADLY DEEDS -- stand alone romantic mystery -- August 26, 2025

I also have an Angelhart novella coming out in April of 25, but I don't have the exact date or title (I sent a couple titles and am waiting to hear back from my editor.)

Also, tentatively for 2026 is the 7th Quinn & Costa book in January and the 3rd Angelhart book in June, plus a stand alone late summer. I'm writing the 7th QC book now :)
Allison Brennan Hi Adam! Thank you so much, I'm so glad you're enjoying Quinn & Costa -- I'm working on book 7 right now! :) .... As for Lucy, most of the books should be available on Amazon. The first three are definitely still in print, and my publisher reissued books 4, 5 and soon 6 (Silenced, Stalked, Stolen.) But they're at the point that they're not reprinting when the books sell out of the warehouse, so Amazon might not have all of them and you may have to look at a 3rd party seller. If you're missing just a couple, let me know and I'll see if I have copies I can send you. (Email me through my webpage). Eventually, all the books will be reissued with new covers, but I don't know when. I hope that helps!
Allison Brennan Hi Cortni -- I am so sorry that I just saw your message here even though you sent it 4 months ago. Please forgive me! I must have missed the notice GR sent me.

I'm so glad you enjoy the Quinn & Costa series. Yes, the Jennings 8, or "Jeff Davis 8" partly inspired the story. I am always intrigued by cold cases, and when I read about the series of murders in Jennings, Louisiana, I came up with my own theory about what was going on and then explored that theory in my book Seven Girls Gone. (At the time, I was already planning to write a story set in the bayou. One of my closest friends lives in New Orleans and was raised outside Lake Charles, so we talked late one night and I really wanted to set a book there)! But it wasn't just those eight murders that intrigued me, but the depth of corruption in small towns, to the point that people just won't talk about things. I have a friend who used to be a cop in a small Louisiana town and told me some stories that also helped me create my fictional St. Augustine.
Allison Brennan I'm glad you got it! I don't know why I didn't get this message sent to me either! (usually, I get alerted by Goodreads when I have a new message here, and I always respond in 24 hours.) I hope you liked the book! ~ Allison

Allison Brennan Hi Nicole! There are five books available right now, with #6 coming in January.

The Third to Die
Tell No Lies
The Wrong Victim
Seven Girls Gone
The Missing Witness
See How They Hide (Jan 2025)

I'm contracted to write two more (yeah!) -- I really enjoy these characters.

Thanks for asking!
Allison
Allison Brennan Hi Allie -- I don't think you meant to email me, I don't have a book with Butterfly in the title. I'm sorry! ~ Allison
Allison Brennan Hi Margo: I'm so sorry that I just saw this message. Was this a contest via Goodreads or my personal webpage? Please email me (go to my website and fill out the contact form -- it goes directly to me!) Let me know what contest it was and I'll make sure you get the book!
Allison Brennan Hi Kelly -- Yes, thank you! The sixth book comes out next January SEE HOW THEY HIDE and I just received a contract for two more books in the series. I'm excited to write them! I love Matt and Kara and Michael and the rest of the team.
Allison Brennan Hi Kim -- I didn't see this message! I'm usually really good about responding on Goodreads within 24 hours. I'm sorry! ... I have read several of James's books, but not that series. I'll check it out! I'm reading almost exclusively through audiobooks now, so I'll definitely listen to the narrator and see if I like him. Thanks for the recommendation! ~Allison
Allison Brennan Hi Cynthia: Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you enjoyed NORTH OF NOWHERE.

NORTH is my first stand alone -- most of my books are series (or limited series.) If you like more police procedurals that read thriller, my Quinn & Costa series would be good -- the first book is THE THIRD TO DIE. If you like more mystery, my Maxine Revere cold case series (5 books) which starts with NOTORIOUS; or THE SORORITY MURDER which is the first in a limited series. I hope that helps! Thanks so much for asking.
Allison Brennan Hi Libby: Thank you so much! I'm so glad you've enjoyed my books. Rick has been a fun character to write. Honestly, I always thought I'd write him a story, but I never had an idea for him that I liked, so he became a minor character in the Lucy Kincaid series. I still don't have a good idea for him -- though I'll never say never.

As far as the Lucy series, when I took a hiatus from the series, I didn't realize that there may not be an option to write future books. I needed the break -- after 17 books I was devoid of ideas for Lucy and wanted to write something new. But as a new idea (a trilogy concept) began percolating, I broached the idea and ... without going into details, it's ultimately up to my publisher. For now, I am enjoying writing my Quinn & Costa series and a second PI series that I'm launching in 2024. Someday I would love to write more Lucy's. I just don't know when that will be possible I wish I had a better answer for you!

Thanks for writing.
Allison
Allison Brennan Hi Kim -- I plan to! My son went away for a week with some friends and I promised to wait until he returns, then we'll binge it. (I also promised to wait until he returns to watch the rest of Stranger Things. I am clearly a good mom, LOL.) We have a 3 week window before he has to go back to college.
Allison Brennan Hi Debbie -- unfortunately, my publisher opted not to publish more Max Revere books. I'm upset, of course, because I love her character. I'll never say never, but there's none in the near future. I'm sorry.
Allison Brennan Hi Hannah: Yes, there will be an audio book. For the novellas, the audio books are often out after the ebook. I don't have a release date yet -- sorry! I'll see if I can find out.

As far as my older books, those rights are controlled by my old publisher. My agent has been trying to get them to release in audio, but because I no longer publisher new books with them, it's been a slower process. They did release the NO EVIL trilogy two years ago in audio, so maybe they're going backwards, I don't know, and we haven't been able to get an answer on the first trilogy. I know it's frustrating -- I'm frustrated too!
Allison Brennan Hi Joann, thank you -- I love Max too. I don't know if I can sell more books to my current publisher or another publisher. They make these decisions based on sales, and right now my Lucy series with one publisher and my Quinn & Costa series with another publisher sell better, so those are what they want more of. I wish I had a better answer!
Allison Brennan Hi Serena!

Good news, bad news.

First, bad. There won't be anymore Maxine Revere books in the near future. I would love to write more, but my publisher opted not to publish more, so I've put the series aside for now.

Re: Lucy Kincaid. There are no books out this year, but I'm developing a trilogy that I will be pitching to my editor, and hope to know more about that before the end of the year. You can sign up for my newsletter through my webpage or follow me on Facebook, both places I announce any new books coming out.

re: New series. I'm still writing the Quinn & Costa series -- there will be at least four books in the series, and I hope more because I have a lot of ideas. The first book was THE THIRD TO DIE which came out last year, and the second book is TELL NO LIES which will be out at the end of this month! The third book will be out at the end of April 2022. (No title yet, but the book is done!)

re: Another new series! THE SORORITY MURDER introduces former US Marshal Regan Merritt. I don't know if this will be a series or a mini-series (i.e. limiting it to only 2-3 books). But I just finished writing this book, which comes out at the end of December, and really love how it turned out. Regan is different from all my other heroines -- she's seasoned, serious, meticulous, well-trained, and going through a personal loss that she's having a hard time coming back from, but she's working through it. It's set in the southwest (Flagstaff, Arizona).

Whew! That's it for now, but again, I'll always keep my readers informed through my quarterly newsletter.

Best,
Allison
