There I was, reading me books and spending time with pretend people. Suddenly, I was interrupted by messages from those supposedly real-time fellas in faraway lands who must have thought this was a dating site.
The horror. (only halfway kidding, Lol.)

Everywhere I look, I see stories. They unite us and break down walls between us. Broken people who bond with someone or some thing at just the right time to put themselves back together in a different way. I couldn't wait to become a part of that process.

I'm such an observer of people and journaling is the way I process my feelings. Usually, my mind is full of so many stories to explore that finding the inspiration to write is not the problem. Choosing which story? There's my struggle.

The satisfaction of connecting with readers and allowing them to escape their own struggles for a while. If we can somehow unite through a story, and they come out on the other side feeling stronger and less alone, that's what I call success.

An interactive children's book series that's been on the back burner for the past 25 years. Now my kids are grown, but the grandblessings have arrived, so it's time to finish those stories.

The history of Solomon's Porch -
Back in 2016, I was intrigued when I first read about this location in the Bible. At that time, I circled those words and wrote the date along with this note:
“Book title?”
I researched what I could find on Solomon’s Porch, sometimes called Solomon’s Portico or colonnade. A massive open area structure on the east side of the temple in Jerusalem, it measured to be 800 feet long with columns 100 feet tall.
Jesus once walked those steps, and Peter and John healed a lame beggar there. Long after Jesus had risen, it proved to be a place where people gathered and healing took place.
“And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s Porch.” John 10:23 (KJV)
“And the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.” Acts 3:11 (KJV)
“And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord on Solomon’s Porch.” Acts 5:12 (KJV)
Ever since then, I was smitten by the idea of a safe place to land like Solomon’s Porch, where people gather, swap stories, and healing still takes place.
And with that, I'd love to introduce you to my debut novel, Solomon's Porch.
