Hi Alex,
Great question. I love travelling and seeing new places and cultures. A lot of my latest series is based on what I saw when I was travelling around Nepal, the poverty and community was something that really stayed with me and although I didn't write my series until a decade later I feel like I understood the situation far better because of what I had experienced in Nepal. Seeing new places is great for producing new ideas and usually the journey home sparks all kinds of characters and plots.
I think it's really important to expose yourself to as many things as possible, whether it's different genres of books, or locations, or music. There's so much to be inspired by, it's not about finding it but about choosing what path we want to take today.

My biggest inspiration is music. I tend not to write to music, but when I'm travelling there is always music blaring out and usually it's a time I can let my mind wander. A lot of my stories, scenes and especially my characters have come from my favorite songs.

I've just finished my second book in the Reacher Series, Border Lines. This is due to be released on 20th July. I'm tidying up the formatting and working on promotions for this and at the same time I've got a few short stories accompanying the series that I will get out for the summer. Then it's straight to book 3 - I can't wait.

The best thing in the world for me about writing books is submerging myself in my own world. That and of course killing off annoying characters whenever I feel like it.

I get writer's block during most chapters. Sometimes it's a case of just rewriting until something clicks other times it's a big neon sign telling me the plot just isn't going to work the way I planned.
When I'm lacking inspiration I try to pick up books in a similar genre and listen to the right type of music for the scene I am trying to create.
