How do you deal with writer’s block?
Rachel Sargeant I've never had it when writing novels and short stories (touch wood) but suffer terribly when it comes to blogging. Must try harder.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Rachel Sargeant You can go anywhere, make people say and do exactly what you want them to, take on any persona, control the weather... In other words, you can write the world how you want it.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Rachel Sargeant I have been privileged to read the 1915 diary of my husband's grandmother. She was a nurse on a hospital ship at Gallipoli. It sparked my interest in researching war nurses and led to my novel "Year of Love and Duty,"
