Again, as with Chloe below Ed, apologies for the delay as I've not been around too much for 10 days or so.
To be loved by readers, a character - good or bad- has to be empathetic and sympathetic. I'm presently writing a piece in which I have a character who has, for me, the biggest fault in the world - racism- and I'm trying to make the other sides of him attractive so that the readers will want him to change, so that they can like him properly.

I've got another two books in The Banned Underground series in progress, with one in editing (at July 2014). The second Snort & Wobbles book is also in editing, and I'm having fun with a YA fantasy project as well.

I o and write some Flash Fiction. I find that it clears the mind, allows me to refocus on the problem, and also helps keeps my imagination working
